Church Mouse
This shy and humble creature, who has rarely been seen and photographed even less, is of unknown origin. If you are in the church building on a quiet day when no one else is around, you may be lucky enough to hear his joyful chatter and whistling as he goes about cleaning and fixing those things that no one else has volunteered to do but need to be done. You might be tempted to think that this sounds very much like the House Elf as described in the Harry Potter books, but make no mistake: the House Elf is an imaginary and fantastical creature whereas the Church Mouse is very much real. Also, Church Mouse is free to come and go as he pleases; we are fortunate indeed that he chooses to stay and help around the building. Pastor John once came face to face to the Church Mouse and his daughter Julia was so quick with her camera that they were able to obtain this rare photograph. Pastor John was also able to obtain his name, however it is, unfortunately, unpronounceable.
